Game one: Long Shots vs No Hair B.A.
    Shots 18 - No Hair 8

In the second meeting of the season for the two teams, you had to feel that No Hea were due for their first win of the season. Long Shots came out and walked their way to a 4 run inning but No Hea came right back with 4 of their own. It looked like the winless No Hea were about to find a way to win.

It was the wind that helped get the shots going, making it hard to get the pitch over the plate and letting the Shots get a total of 8 walks. When the Shots bats started to come through, it was the beginning of the end for No Hea. Although No Hea scored 8 runs, the Shots scored 18 and the game was over in 5 innings.

The best hitters for Long Shots were Jack Johnson 2 for 2, 1 bb, 1 rbi, 1 RS. John Woody was 3 for 4 with 2 rbi's and 3 RS. Dale Cammarata went 3 for 4 with 2 rbi's and 2 RS. His son Ryan Cammarata was 2 for 3 with 4 rbi's and 1 RS. Lathan was 2 for 3 with 2 dbls a BB, 2 rbi's and 2 RS.

For the No Hea, it was Alia who was 3 for 3 with 1 rbi and 1 run scored. Scotty was 2 for 2 with 2 rbi's and 1 run scored. Their coach Larry and inspiration for the name No Hea was 2 for 3.

Good Luck to No Hea in their next game.

    Editors note:
The coach & captain of No Hair B.A., Larry Kauai, has asked us to use the "local" pronunciation & spelling for his team's name which is "No Hea" (which I personally like). No problem Larry, now get out there and win a game man.

    Aloha, MC

Game Two: Pounders vs Good Strokes
    Pounders 15 - Strokes 12

The Pounders gutted out a thrilling 15 - 12 victory over the Strokes Saturday morning despite missing four starters who were competing in a softball tournament in Las Vegas. Highlighted by a three-run homer by Sean Steadman, the Pounders erupted for eleven runs in the first inning. But their offense sputtered after that and they had to rely on pitching and defense to pull this one out.

Pounder pitcher Steve Lemeux pitched the first three innings but was forced into the DH role after pulling a hamstring. By that time the Strokes had closed the gap to four runs, 12 - 8, thanks to a seven run outburst in the third inning.

Back-up Pounder hurler Jeff Green held the Strokes in check until the sixth inning when he started to struggle with his control. After closing to within three runs, the Stroke rally was cut short due to a pair of defensive web gems by Pounder shortstop Sean Steadman. Both plays saw Steadman range far to his right to turn potential run scoring hits into force-outs.

After holding the Pounders scoreless in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Strokes attempted to mount a rally in their last at-bat. Continuing to struggle with his control, Pounder pitcher Jeff Green walked the leadoff batter and was replaced by the injured starting pitcher, Steve Lemeux. He threw nothing but strikes to slam the door on the Strokes allowing the Pounders to hang on for the win. With the victory, the Pounders improved to 9 - 0 on the season while the Strokes dropped to 4 - 5.

    Top hitters for the Pounders were Sean, 3 - 4, HR, 1 run, 3 RBI; Steve P., 3 - 4, 2 runs, 2 RBI; Fred, 3 - 4, 3 runs, 1 RBI; Jeff, 2 - 2, 1 run, 2 RBI and Phil, 2 - 2, 1 RBI. The Strokes were led by Joe, 3 - 4, HR, 2 runs, 2 RBI; Sean, 3 - 5, HR, 2 runs, 2 RBI; Bubba, 3 - 5, 3 runs, 1 RBI; Tim, 2 - 4, 1 run, 3 RBI and Tyler, 2 - 4, 1 RBI.

In next week's action, the Pounders face Fred's while the Strokes take on the Long Shots.

Game Four: Freds vs King of the Road
    Freds 23 - Kings 8

Somewhere high above Haliimaile ballpark, Mo and Monte had big smiles.

For the better part of 3 innings, you could've heard a pin drop on Hecklers Hill. But a few misjudged balls and a drop by Jerry opened the heckling gates as the Hill erupted in a chorus of boos and jeers. To top it off, usually a good hitter, Jerry hit a weak one bouncer to third for an out and had to endure more jeers from the Hill like the "You couldn't break a piñata with that swing" among others.

After a cheer for Monte, Freddy's exploded for 14 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to beat King of the Road 23-8. King of the Road was unable to mount a comeback in the top of the 5th and lost by 10 run rule. The Kings and Freddy's split the season series.

    Top performers for Freddy's Electric were Greg (4 for 4), Bully (4 for 4), Kurt (4 for 4), Steve (4 for 4), and Mo (3 for 3).

King of the Road was led by Jason (1 for 2, 1 BB) and Paul (1 for 2, 1 BB).

Next week King of the Road plays the tie-dyed Wheels, while Freddy's plays league leading Pounders.
